I have about 200 hrs in N9009Y in 1969 and 1970. On approch to SFO for a cargo flight for General Motors, a controller positioned us too close behind a landing 747 at night. We hit severe wake turbulance flipping us inverted on final approach. Fortunately, we were lite with only fuel in the inboard tanks and no cargo or passengers on board so we were able to pull out before hitting the bay. I loved flying this aircraft and did numerous flights in all western states flying cargo and executives to various locations including several flights to resorts in Baja. It was a joy to fly this aircraft. |
