| Built 1942 by DH Australia & delivered to the RAAF as A17-579. Allocated to 11 EFTS Benalla & retained post-war. Registered VH-GME to McKenzie Flying School, Moorabbin, 29 Apr 58 but not collected by purchaser until Sep 58. Purchased in the '60s by Goulburn Valley Aero Club & re-registered VH-GVA(2). On 27th January 2011, this aircraft was destroyed when it clipped trees on takeoff from Maryborough Airport (YMBU), Victoria, Australia, crashed and caught fire, starting a small grass fire. Tragically, the pilot and his passenger, perished in the accident. |
