Hi,

I'm looking for more information on a few airports I flew to in South Carolina in 1993 and 1994, but that are no longer recognised in the FAA (or airport-data.com) database.
If anybody can tell me if these airports are now private or closed or what their new airport codes are would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately I only have the identifiers we used back then, no airport or city name Sad
They are (were): 49J, 50J and 55J
All located in the vicinity of Conway, Horry County, SC
(I went to NAIA there for my flight training)

THANKS!!!!

I found that 50J is now called Berkely County (ICAO: KMKS) or FAA MKS.

50J Moncks Corner Airfield (now Berkeley County MKS / KMKS)

49J Hilton Head Island, when it was a GenAv airfield (now HXD / KHXD)
- Have seen it also listed as HHH ?

55J Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport Florida, (now FHB / KFHB )
not that close to Conway, SC !

(Above listings from AOPA Directory @ 1997-1998)

John

I can confirm L-5jockey's airport designator answers are still valid-from the current 2013/2014 AOPA Airports Directory.
