The above aircraft, not in database, was flying over rugged mountainous bushland west of Sydney NSW, when it suffered an engine failure.

There was no suitable place to attempt a landing, so the pilot deployed the BRS. The plane floated to comparatively gentle landing in a residential area, narrowly missing high tension power lines.

The pilot and three passengers walked away from the crash, which severed the aircraft's tail, only one person requiring attention for a minor injury.

According to Australian aviation forums, the aircraft is a company demonstrator, which is why it has a US registration.

Remarkable that someone took an excellent photo of an emergency use of the BRS parachute. Cirrus owns a good chunk of the BRS company, also in Minnesota. Unfortunately, there have been too many Cirrus SR20/22 crashes where the BRS parachute was NOT deployed by the pilot.
