Aircraft N9683 1929 Ford 5-AT-B Tri-Motor, c/n 39
I just uploaded photos I took in 1962: Search on N9683

N9683 on the ground at Windham Airport near Willimantic Connecticut in 1962 as American Airlines did a farewell tour before presenting the aircraft to the Smithsonian, where it remains today. I was credentialed as a broadcast journalist and got to fly!

Now I get to show my Grandchildren the "Plane Grandpa Flew In" at the Smithsonian Smile
