You should be aware Mooney built four versions- the original M20, of which 200 were built, certification on 24 August 1955.
The M20A, of which 501 were built, certification on 13 February 1958.
The M20B Mk21, of which 224 were built, certification on 14 December 1960.
The M20C Mk21, of which 2,222 were built, certification on 20 October 1961.
More later M20D/E versions built-M20D Master, M20E Super 21, also as Chapparal and Aerostar 201.
The versions -too many to list. The named list goes on-27 more versions of the M20. Just two versions were not certified by the FAA. And just to complicate this further, individual models had several marketing names. I know this doesn't fully answer/address your question.
