Hi. I hit a dead end in the search for this Piper colt a couple of years ago with a lot of help from others. Apparently airframe now is of the register?
Does anyone have anymore info or know the where abouts of my grandfathers old plane. Used to be rego FFS ,
serial Number 22-8026

It appears this Colt (a tailwheel conversion) was withdrawn from use and sold for spares in January 2011. I find it surprising. In the most recent photographs of the aeroplane taken in 2009 at Redcliffe, Queensland, ICAO Code YRED, it looks in pristine condition. Can't see any record of an accident but maybe it was just knackered. It's possible I suppose that some of the airframe is still at Redcliffe.

Yes I agree seems strange. I just can’t find last owner contacts. I had previous owners but lost all emails but had a lot of good stories and photos. Even if I found the airframe I’d hang it in my workshop. Just need the next clue to it. I had a name of last thought owner in Windsor NSW but can’t match name to anything to contact. Initials G.M. Any more suggestions would be great.

Managed to track the owner's address as of 19/01/2011.
