Is there a smart way to sort your index, e.g. Airliners in alphabetical order?

Index your photos any way that is makes sense to you. The customize your photo gallery feature lets you pick any folder name that suits your fancy.

I've observed that most contributors on this site based in North America tend to sort their aircraft by make and model, and most contributors in Europe tend to sort their aircraft photos by location.

If you want a secondary index for your own purposes be mindful of your aircraft descriptions. In the member's section you can search your own photos based on description. Add something like "Northwest Airlines", "Brit Air", "Tigerair Australia", etc. If you want to ensure that you can find all of you're Boeing 727 photos make sure you have that in your descriptions.

I shoot mostly military, so I have mine separated by Fighters, Cargo, Trainers, Tankers, Commercial, Warbirds, Demo Teams, helo's, RAF and a few more.

I wish especially in my general aviation section with probably 200 different companies and I enter a first timer of say a company that starts with an "N". It's tedious trying to move 5 at a time up the list to the right spot.

I don't think there is the ability to do so

In the Member's Section, select Customise Photo Gallery.

Here you can create nested folders. Then you can set them up as you wish, eg,

Location/category/make/model, etc. eg,

Moorabbin/General Aviation Single Engine/Beechcraft/Bonanza 36.

When you have your directory tree set up, you then have to move your photos into the desired subfolder. A lot of work.

Thanks so much, I'm surprised how well they're coming out from a D200.
