My published information is the SUDEST Caravelle was the very first jet aircraft to place twin jet engines at the rear of the fuselage and it was capable of carrying 70 passengers. The pair of Rolls-Royce turbines provided a cruising speed of 460 miles per hour. Max range was 3,975 miles. It was a medium-range popular aircraft serving the U.S.A. and South Vietnam and many other countries throughout the world. It was considered to be France's most successful postwar jet aircraft.
