The Experimental Aircraft Association's restored 1944 Boeing B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" is again making a California Tour this year. I toured N5017N 20 April 2010 when it came to nearby OXR and took many photos. The very popular N5017N has 326 photos of it on this site as I write this. The event is a great photo-Op whether you buy a ride or not.

Revenues from the B-17 tour help cover maintenance and operations costs for the aircraft and "Keep 'em Flying".

2011 California Tour/Rides Dates

Apr. 8-10, Torrance, Zamperini Field TOA

Apr. 12-13, San Diego, Gillespie Field Airport SEE

Apr. 15-17, Van Nuys, Van Nuys Airport VNY

Apr. 19-20, Lancaster, Gen. Wm. J. Fox Airfield WJF

Apr. 22-24, Chino, Chino Airport CNO

Apr. 26-27, Santa Maria, Santa Maria Public Airport SMX

Apr. 29-May 1, Watsonville, Watsonville Municipal WVI

May 3-4, Concord, Buchanan Field CCR

May 6-8, Hayward, Hayward Executive HWD

Being California-based, I only post here California Air Shows and California aircraft tours of noted aircraft such as the Experimental Aircraft Association's B-17G tours. The next closest EAA B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" tour to you living in Florida is scheduled for Dallas, TX, 4-6 November, 2011. They tour each Spring and Fall. See hundreds of photos of N5017N here on this site. It is one of the most photographed aircraft on the site.

Please web-browse Experimental Aircraft Association B-17G Tours to see the remainder of their 2011 Fall schedule-just three locations left to tour this year. Call the listed 1-800 number at bottom of my original post here for more information. As always, confirm before spending time or money.

Being a Fort Worth kind of guy....it always irks me when folks throw out the "Dallas" tag for something like this....

The airplane will be in far south Fort Worth at Spinks Airport...35 miles from the nearest Dallas city limit sign...and 45 miles from downtown.

Grrr.....

I am looking forward to seeing her again!

Well Zane, I am just the messenger here, and the inquirer from South Florida removed his post, confusing the thread. Obviously, the EAA figures Dallas as a bigger draw than nearby Spinks. Take some more good photos of N5017N, there doesn't seem to be enough of them here, LOL!

The inquirer from Florida was actually a spammer from Brasil.
